Covid and lockdown has affected everyone: the young people we work with have been hit hard.
Our youth worker and other agencies are all saying the same: the 16 – 25 year olds are really suffering. It is a daily challenge to keep the all-important relationships going, when young people are lockdowned and isolated at home, with little but gaming online.
And their training and employment futures will be even tougher in an economy with businesses struggling to survive and job cuts.
Dyfodol Powys Futures has adapted to work totally online and phone, but it’s going to be a huge effort longer term to secure good futures for our young people. We are seeing more young people in Powys that will need the sort of help and support that we offer.
